Terms of Service

1. Who you are contracting with

The wayfindnow service ("the Service") is operated by:

By creating an account or using an API key, you ("the Customer") agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. The Service

wayfindnow is an HTTP API for address and place autocomplete, search and nearby lookup. The endpoints, parameters and response fields are documented at the API reference, which forms part of these terms.

We may change, add or withdraw endpoints and fields. Where a change would break existing integrations we will give reasonable notice; corrections to underlying address data are not such a change, because keeping the data correct is the point of the Service.

3. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for all traffic sent with your keys, whether or not you sent it.
Keep server-side keys secret. A key published in a browser is public by design — restrict it by origin, IP or endpoint, as described in the documentation.
Tell us promptly if a key is exposed. You can rotate keys yourself at any time.
One account is for one Customer. Do not resell access to your account.

4. What you may and may not do with the results

These are the same rules stated in the documentation, restated here as contract terms:

Keep the id for as long as you like. Our identifiers are stable. Store them and re-resolve them whenever you need the address.
Cache the rest of a response for up to 30 days. Re-resolving keeps you correct when a street is renamed or a postcode reallocated.
Do not build a persistent copy of the database. Systematic extraction, bulk downloading, or assembling our responses into a competing dataset is not permitted, whatever the rate at which it is done.
Do not use the Service to attempt to identify, track or profile individuals.
Do not use it for any unlawful purpose, or to circumvent rate limits or key restrictions.

5. Data sources and attribution

Our coverage is assembled from a number of sources, some of them openly licensed. Where a source licence requires attribution or imposes conditions on redistribution, those conditions travel with the data and apply to your use of it as well as ours. If you intend to redistribute results publicly rather than use them inside your own product, contact us first so we can tell you what applies to the countries you need.

6. Billing

Pricing, included volumes and rate limits are published at the pricing page, which is authoritative.

The billable unit is a session, not a request: every keystroke up to one chosen address costs one unit. Requests sent without a session token are billed per request.
Paid tiers bill overage at the tier rate rather than cutting you off mid-month. The free tier is hard-capped — requests over the cap are refused with HTTP 429, so a free account can never receive a bill.
Fees are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes, which are added where due.
Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

7. Availability

We publish live dependency and index checks at the status page. We aim for continuous availability and do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service credits on the published tiers. If you need one, contact us.

8. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or whose fees are unpaid, and will tell you why. We may suspend immediately and without notice where continued use threatens the integrity or availability of the Service for others.

9. Accuracy, warranties and liability

Address data is never complete or perfectly current. Streets are renamed, buildings are numbered inconsistently, and coverage varies by country — which is why the coverage page publishes per-country figures rather than a single claim. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis.

The Service is not designed or certified for use in emergency dispatch, navigation for safety-critical purposes, or any situation where an incorrect or missing address could cause death, injury or environmental harm. Do not use it for those purposes.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited under Italy's law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and we will notify account holders by email of any change that materially reduces your rights before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Italy. The courts of Genoa, Italy have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.
